The 2020s have radically changed the work paradigm. While it is true that there are jobs that are well suited to being done remotely, there are others that can be affected by the lack of contact.
Salespeople are a group that has been drastically affected and for this reason, special attention must be given to them.
They are usually very energetic people, who leave their homes every day to take on the world, to win over their customers, to interact with them, to talk, laugh and build a close relationship in order to get to know their needs in depth and gain their trust.
Now, however, they cannot touch their customers, nor can they be with their co-workers or area managers.
Not feeling alone
It is very important that salespeople do not feel alone. It is one thing to be working from home or another location outside the office, but it is quite another to feel isolated.
It is important that companies support their salespeople and take care to provide a team environment. But how can this be done?
Establish communication standards
To give a sense of teamwork, it will help to establish a method of communication and rules for doing so.
Define how the long-distance relationship between all the collaborators will be: when you will see each other, how you will do it, for how long and what you will talk about.
And introduce video calling as a meeting method that will help you see each other. Even if the screen is cold, a look, a gesture, a smile will make your team feel more emotionally connected to the conversation.
Appropriate tools to ensure a good environment
We must rely on technology.
There are great professionals who are on their own and the company cannot wait for them to be at home and manage.
If you are a team leader, your concern should be to provide them with the necessary tools so that they can continue to communicate with customers.
If your service or product is good, and you support your salespeople with the right tools... don't be afraid of the distance, because they will be able to sell wherever they are.
