WhatsApp Business is a free-to-download app designed for small and medium-sized businesses.
Before you start downloading and installing it is important that you take into account the following points:
- If you already use WhatsApp Messenger, you can migrate your account to WhatsApp Business while keeping your chat history, video and photo gallery.
- If at some point you want to close your WhatsApp Business account to return to WhatsApp Messenger, please note that you will not be able to keep your chat history.
- You can use WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business on the same mobile device as long as the associated phone numbers are different.
Well, let's get started!
Step 1. Download the WhatsApp Business application.
- Go to Google Play and download the application or download from here.
- Choose to transfer your phone number associated with WhatsApp Messenger or add a new one. You will be sent a code to verify the phone number.
Step 2. Create the company profile.
- Go to Settings > Company Profile and fill in all the fields with your company details: name, type of company, a description of what you do (it can be a slogan).
- Add contact information: phone, email and website.
- Add business hours.
Step 3. Automate messages to your customers.
- Configure the absence message: inform your customer when you are absent and when you will be available again. You can, for example, ask him to leave you his contact details and availability to contact you when you will be available again.
- Set up a welcome message: so that no customer is left unanswered, set up a personalized welcome message. You can even add a link to the catalog for the customer to look at while waiting for your service.
- Set up quick answers: you can save several answer templates for later use with a simple short-code. This way you can easily answer recurring questions from your customers.
Step 4. Create your first product catalog
Add a photo of all the products and services you offer with a brief description. Share them in one click with your customers.
Step 5. Add an online payment method
If you have a paypal.me account you can connect it with your WhatsApp Business account and your item catalog.
